We hope that the rules of international humanitarian law are observed by both parties to this conflict. Fresh Greywigs insist that only mediation, genuine and continued mediation by experts could help enthrone requiste democratic dialogue capable of resolving not just the Niger Delta crisis but all other crises in Nigeria. Government appointees cannot resolve these conflicts.

Chairman, Disciplinary Committee of the Body of Benchers and administrator of the National Judicial Institute (NJI), Justice Umaru Eri, at the weekend decried insincerity in the enforcement of court’s order and judgments in the country.He said that scuh development had continued to put the administration of justice in the country into a sort of crisis.

We agree with his Lordship. But we note that this democratic government has joined its predecessors in assuming the first spot in the subject insincerity citing the "rule of law" as alibi. The insincerity of government coupled with the long delay and subversion of justice atimes will continue to make administration of justice a mockery. There is no justice in Nigeria currently, no, not with all the charges filed by the EFCC pending in all the Courts in Nigeria without any conviction anywhere. The suspects make a play of the proceedings by their utterances and actions. This explains one reason why some will prefer not to obey the court orders ....
